A rare Austrian cold painted bronze tape measure in the
form of a pig on a grassy mound. The tape is the original one and is marked in both inches and "meters". The side
marked in inches is also marked "LONDON" "Made in Austria" The pig turns to wind the tape and a delightful butterfly stops
the tape.
Condition- as can be seen in the photo, the pig has suffered a
few bashes, no doubt from having worked his way to the bottom of a work basket! The tape is in good condition, running to
one metre. From 67cm to 100cm there are some marks on the tape which look like rust marks. There are no tears or worn parts
to the tape.

Caledonia tartan threadwinder of Mermaid's purse shape.
Slight wear to tips, over all pretty good condition, tartan to both sides. Circa 1880. 7cm long £125
Unusual Mauchline ware barrel pin cushion with a photographic picture of Duncrub
House, Perthshire. The house was largely rebuilt in 1870 and this would appear to be of around that time. Unusually,
its pin cushion is covered in woven tartan cloth which is quite definitely the original covering and contemporary
with the object. The top is a little worn, but I have not seen another piece with a tartan pin cushion and it is likely the
entire piece was commissioned in a limited number for the owners of the house to give as presents.
The house was demolished in 1950.
The interior is very clean; dished and unvarnished, still smelling of wood! To the inside of the
lid is written in pencil by a childish hand- "AERGB" (this could be removed with a rubber should you choose) It is in generally
good condition, of a rich golden colour, with scuffed green morocco paper to the base. approx 8cm high. £95
"DUNCRUB, the estate and residence of Lord Rollo,
in the parish of Dunning, Perthshire. Lord Rollo is a lateral descendant of Rollo the Dane, and of Rollo the first Duke of
Normandy, through branches who came to England with William the Conqueror and to Scotland in the reign of David 1. The estate
of Duncrub was a grant to the family of Rollo, in 1380, by David Earl of Strathearn, with the consent of King Robert, his
father. In 1512, it was erected into a free barony; and in 1651, its then proprietor, Sir Andrew Rollo, was raised by Charles
11, to the dignity of Baron Rollo of Duncrub"
Mauchline ware rouge pot "Made of wood

"Abbotsford is
the house built and lived in by Sir Walter Scott, the 19th century novelist, and author of timeless classics such as Waverley,
Rob Roy, Ivanhoe and The Lady of the Lake. In 1811 Sir Walter bought the property
which was to become Abbotsford, set in the heart of the Scottish Borders, on the banks of the River Tweed. The building of
Abbotsford took six years, and was completed in 1824. William Atkinson was the chosen architect, and George Bulloch gave his
advice on the furnishings, while local craftsmen carried out the work"
