Mary Ann Milne's box.
A rare and unusual piece of Scottish and lighthouse history. A leather bound small kist or box inscribed  to a brass plate "Mary Ann Milne Signal Tower Arbroath"
The Signal Tower was the accommodation for lighthouse keepers families who worked at the Bell Rock light, which is situated 11 miles of Arbroath, Scotland. One of the UK's most famous lights it was designed by Robert Stevenson, Grandfather of the writer Robert Louis Stevenson, author of Treasure Island.
Thomson Milne was a keeper there circa 1819- 1839. This box belonged to either his wife or daughter.
