Antique Spa ware snuff box with running spaniel
A small white wood snuff box with transfer printed spaniel running through grass to top.
Circa 1890.

This box is typical of those made at Spa, in Belgium, with tiny pinned joints to the curved corners.

Spaware is lined in a darker wood and then lined with tin. Remains of tin lining. The back part of the darker wood lining is slightly warped. (see pictures below) The metal hinges are original and in good condition, neither loose nor too tight.There is minor, but not serious, grazing to the box, but not to the picture.

2 cm high 7.4 cm long 4.5cm deep.

Substantially less expensive than a Scottish box of the same quality.
