An interesting Go to Bed with a decorated Mother of Pearl match holder to the top.

It is called a "Go to Bed" because it has a holder at the top to hold a match- just enough light to see you to bed once the candles and lamps are blown out for the night.

The two parts unscrew to provide a damp proof place to keep matches, the strike was to the base.

There is a tiny chip to the top rim, as can be seen in the photograph.

Stands 6cm high.
