Inside has three compartments. Base- Aprox 12.5cm x 7cm and 4cm high. This sort of Mauchline ware finish is known as "black lacquer" and was made in the late 19th century to immitate black papermache which was extremely fashionable at the time.The Mauchline ware finish seems to have been very popular too.
