Rare Scottish Antique Money bank, blue sponged cottage.

A Scottish antique moneybank in the form of a East coast townhouse. The bank itself is moulded then sponge decoration is applied to decorate it. The back is flat and sponged in bluey purple.

In Scotland these are called "Pirlie" banks from the Scot's word "pirl" to shake or rattle.

I have three similar banks for sale at the moment, although this type of house shape is rare.

circa 1840.

8cm high.

condition- There is a crack to the chimney and down the back, where somebody has tried to get their money out!
