An early to mid century form of packaging in America. Printed cotton was used to make bags for flour chicken feed
and a variety of other dry goods. It may seem an extraordinary thing to do, but it proved a great hit with buyers who used
to them for clothing and many of the remarkable quilts produced in the USA of the same period.
They are a
source of classic mid century designs and still look quite amazing around the home and are also very popular with people making
crafts and applied arts. Ironically, they are reproduced today as yardage by many of the manufacturers aiming at
quilters.
